Rovent 2005

SO last weekend I went to a Rover Moot a shor distance into BC's interior in a place acalled Manning Park, 1 hour from Hope along HWY 3. It was an awesome camp. Rovers out here know how to party almost as well as back east. I hadent been winter camping in many years so it was a fun experiance to go again. My new 4 season tent was amazing. The full fly and douple wall kept us warmer than i thought a tent could. I had always build shelters for winter camps in the past but the tent worked almost as well. We had periodic problems with our water freezing but we lasted the weekend with a bit left so it was not so bad. We also had a large tent with a heater to keep us warm and prevent our food from freezing to or plates.

During the saturday we ran an obstical course. People had to make their way blindfolded through a rope course, over a cargo net and through a snow maze. The snow maze was perhaps a bit too dificult to do blindfolded. we had a 10 min difference betweent he best and worst times dew to people taking wrong turns and back tracking.

The Dance saturday night was one of the coolest ive ever been to. By that i mean it was outside in a snow storm. The falling snow was illuminated by the spotlights so it looked like it was only snowing above the crowed and stage. Everybody was huddeled close together for warmth. The party broak up at around 1:00, but i ended up heading back to camp about a half hour before that for some cheesecake.

The drive home was long and it was not made any better by the fack that i was very tired. Several Timmy stops where made along the way. I think i drak more tim hortans coffee thiat weekend then in the last 2 months.
